 Chris Durante
was born and raised in Mahwah, NJ and has been playing the guitar since the age
of 12. At a young age, his talent brought him to perform and record with various
local bands from NJ. Chris received his education from several distinct
guitarists and studied at William Paterson College, focusing on classical
guitar.
Chris enthusiastically expresses his love for The Lord through the gift of
music. From teaching guitar in a lesson room of a music store, he embarked on a
journey with The Lord that has grown into the leading of God’s people into
worship. Besides leading worship, his ministry experiences have also included
Coffee House Ministries, Church Boards, Youth and Prayer Groups and preaching at
times. The journey has brought him to leading the praise band here at WVCN,
serving musically for functions on the Metro NY District, as well as providing
music for local church functions in the New York - New Jersey area.
In addition to his music commitments, he is currently enrolled in The Palmer
Institute for Pastoral Education and Development and is working towards his
ordination on the Metro NY District for the Church of the Nazarene.
Chris’ love for the Lord, and his heart for the lost exemplify his dedication to
the call on his life. He and his wife Kat, along with their daughter
Gabriella, enjoy ministry with God’s family at WVCN.
